Help please! Fallen tree
close up of bark
small branches
red dust from beetles burrowing
great habitat for invertebrates
distance shot

Large old fallen tree. It has been dead for some years but can anyone tell what it once was from the bark. Do the smaller branches (3rd pic) look like conifer? The dust from Beetle holes is very red. The main central branch is lying on the ground covered in moss and I measured it by heel/toe and it seemed to be about 72ft. It is full of beetle holes, I just like this tree and would love to know what it was!! Could it be a Sequoia or Black Pine, these are the nearest matches I can get when I look at various websites.
