Red Clover

A pink/purple flower on a stalk approximaely 50cm in height. The leaves of this perennial are trifoliate and can be seen just beneath the flower. The stem is quite hairy.

This red clover (which actually looks pink/purple was found abundantly growing in Farnham Park. It is a source of nitrogen to the soil when it breaks down. It is also used in animal food. It is believed to have medical uses.
