Hi Phil, I looked up

Hi Phil,
I looked up Philaenus spumerius on the UK Bugs site and followed the link on that species to the similar Aphrophora alni, or Alder Spittlebug. I think that this may be the species in question here. It was swept from a tree, there is a keel running down the midline of the insect and white patches at the right places on the wings. What do you think?

Yes - I think you're right.

Yes - I think you're right. Especially as the bugs website calls out the central dorsal kel as being diagnostic.
