Damselfly for ID

Observed: 9th June 2012 By: leaves 'n bloomleaves 'n bloom’s reputation in Invertebrates

Normally I only see red damselflies in my Perthshire garden and today there were two reds around the garden pond. Not sure if this is a very young red one without colouration or else another type of damselfly?

Coenagrion hastulatum

Since this damselfly was spotted in Perthshire could someone compare it to the female Coenagrion hastulatum - as that damselfly only occurs in the NE part of the Scotland. I've looked at a few images online and my photograph and the Coenagrion hastulatum look very similar.

Gardening naturally down by a Scottish Lade.
