Skylarks

Observed: 9th June 2012 By: John PilkingtonJohn Pilkington’s reputation in BirdsJohn Pilkington’s reputation in BirdsJohn Pilkington’s reputation in BirdsJohn Pilkington’s reputation in Birds
Description:

Several individual birds seen on Carn Pica. Recognised by their distinctive song during apparently vertical flight, as they faced into wind. All examples ceased singing at a reasonable height and dropped rapidly into undergrowth. Too far away to get decent photograph.

More Skylarks

Got to within 20m of a pair of Skylarks that were probably feeding on a dry dirt path within the Graig Cerrig Gleissiad reserve and watched them for a couple of minutes, but by the time the camera was turned on, they had disappeared -possibly the beep of the camera turning on that scared them off.
