Can this be a leech?

About 20 mm [but stretching and contracting], dark brown, but slightly translucent. Head rises up, questing. Section of body swells at front and moves back about half its length. It is the movement that reminds me of a leech rather than a worm.

It looks too round for a leech, which is rather flattened, with suckers at both ends with which it moves by looping. If it is round in section (as appears) it is an immature earthworm.

Undoubtedly an earthworm. Any odd movement will probably be a result of it being rather dry.
