Description:

Found on a sandy beach just above the low water level after a storm, its was alive, we have a small video of it moving it's spines. It did not appear to have been injured we returned it to the sea.

Spiny-comb starfish

The row of plates around the edge of the arms on both the upper and lower sides are another identification feature. These starfish live in sand usually below the low tide line.
