I put this bird (different photo) on a couple of weeks ago and spotted it again male and female in the garden feeding from raspberry canes plus going in and out of a gap in an old 10ft high stone wall in the garden not sure if they nest this far up North.

Northerly nesting redstarts

According to BTO atlas of breeding birds 88-91 (new one not out yet) redstarts are found breeding right the way up to the north coast of Scotland although at their highest densities in Wales, Lake District and central Highlands

The magic of nature is all around us - we just need to learn how to see it.

That is good to know I will keep watching and hopefully post some young ones on in the near future.
