Thanks for that; out of interest, how does one immediately differentiate a juvenile from an adult?

It doesn't hold for all bugs,

It doesn't hold for all bugs, but for bugs which have full-length wings when adult: if you can see the body segments on the back of the abdomen, it is a juvenile.
