Confidence: It's likely to be this, but I can't be certain.
Notes: This object is 10-12mm long. It was attached to a heather plant. I think it is a moth pupa, a small cocoon but it is the first one of its like I have seen. Found on heather moorland. Can anyone suggest an ID of the species or genus? It looks a bit like a bird dropping but its firmly fixed to the plant and has fine fibres on its surface as on many moth cocoons.
