Salticus sp.
Description:

On an tree near heathland. I know it is a salticus sp., but I have no idea how many species there are in that genus in the UK, but I assume more than just the one my simple field guide mentions.

Salticus

I believe there are three species in genus Salticus, and they need microscopic examination to identify fully.

Just to add that when you identify something on iSpot to genus level, it is best to use the genus on its own (which you can pick off the drop-down list), rather than adding "sp." after the genus name - that way the links work better (e.g. the NBN and EoL links are missing from the above).
