many thanks Martin,
I see the map does not include southern Scotland ?
This is a useful record as it fills in a gap and extends the mapped distribution a little. The NBNG maps are not maps of known distribution, but maps of the records that folk have made available on the site. White space is not to be interpreted as absence of the species - just absence of records of the species. The range on NBNG is only just short of your area. I will add it to the HBRG set, and it will get to the Gateway later this year.
I don't know C rustica well - it does not get to the north as far as I know, although there are 2 dots in the NE that I will investigate - but next time I am in Edinburgh I will pay extra attention to the soldiers.
