a small pond half a metre deep with a stream that only runs in heavy rain rest of time the stream is boggy hope this helps Paul
broad bodied chasers spotted last year
The very square front to the head with eyes on the outer edges and the very pointed sharp tail make me err towards a Golden Ringed Dragonfly, however my book does not put them in your area. Do you get them there ?
not aware of this one as I am only a novice in this field, but park has been mostly undisturbed since mine closed in 1964 rare grasshopper noted last year along with plants and orchids .
Keep your eyes peeled for a Golden Ringed Dragonfly. The larvae looks like one but it's not shown in your area. I'm getting a friend who is an expert in larvae to have a look at this and will get back to you. Regards Chris.
thanks for your help with this id, it shows the true value of ISPOT members in helping people to gain more knowledge of the fantastic world around them. regards Paul
