Weird beetle

Description:

I believe this is a beetle. No one in my community has been able to identify it. I would like information as it was found in my home, I have found five total in less than a week. they are about one inch long with antennae twice as long as body.

weird beetle- Eucalyptus Longhorned Borer

Thank you Richard! I cannot tell you how excited I was to find out what this little guy was. Like I said it was in my house. I have a wood burning stove as my only source of heat and the last wood I had was eucalyptus...I had three unburned pieces that remained inside after the season in my wood bucket, I went to it after knowing what this insect was and sure enough I saw the boring holes and trails!! Thanks a million!

Hi Christie, glad to help! Very interesting mystery, I guess all the others got burned up over the winter. Probably a good job or you would be over run by them by now!
