I think this is a fruticose lichen as it had quite a lot of fronds or branches growing upright, it was a silver-grey in colour.


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

It certainly is. If you add a revised ID that also includes the scientific name (Evernia prunastri), you are likely to attract agreement, and it will link to other observations.

It's actually foliose. A full explanation can be found on numerous other postings of this species.
