Marsh Snipe Fly ??

Several of these snipe flies have been out in the fringes of a chalk grassland area recently, near a small wooded patch and hedgerows. Similar in size and appearance to R. scolopaceus, but with unpatterned wings. I think this and the leg colours are right for R. tringarius, but is the habitat right, and how can I rule out the rarer Woodland Snipe Fly Rhagio annulatus? I ahvenot uyet git close enough for a good shot. They seems shier than scolopaceus.
