Early Dog Violet darker spur than flowers, V. riviviana flowers later usually may.

V. riviniana

Loathe as I am to disagree, I think this is V. riviniana. The spur is not, I think, dark enough for V. reichenbachiana, which also has rather distictive markings on the lower lip, fewer than V. riviniana and not usually branched. There are of course additional and probably better ways to tell them apart. See The Plant Crib
