Not the usual black pollen beetles - and I've seen the same brownish ones twice this week, in different places, but both on buttercups.
No interactions present.
Much appreciated - I'd just about given up and decided nobody knew what they were. Now I can look up a bit more about them.
This site: http://www.thewcg.org.uk/pages/byturidae.htm says that B tomentosus (which these ones probably aren't as they're fairly large) is the raspberry beetle. So I'll check my raspberry plants carefully!
Though they may also be significant pollinators, so I'll try not to hate them indiscriminately.
