ID Comment

I believe that this is our only bumble bee with a ginger thorax (albeit tonsured) and a white tail. A very nice find.

Tree Bumblebee !?!

So much for living in tree holes, they would appear not to be all that fussy.

Ventilation

In recent hot sunshine a line of worker bees were fanning the nest. We placed a bucket to shade the nest. They immediately stopped and got on with their other duties. Estimate twenty workers in this colony.
