It has been a good winter /spring for the 14-spot,certainly here in Leicester; and probably the best year year of sightings for myself. Finding good numbers on Tilia sp. .
I'm in E Kent and this was my first, as far as I know, sighting.
I saw another one this morning in the front garden.
They were on marjoram and lavender.

I did, however, take the name from UK Ladybird Survey ID sheet. Another time maybe I should check name on EOL.
the decision to not allow the short form (14-punctata) of the scientific name is quite recent so a lot of sources do still use that form.
