I can't even find a likely genus, but please allow this worthless comment just so I can track any future developments in my iSpot filter!
:) I reckon by this point your comments and knowledge are every bit as valid as mine!
I wondered if it might be a member of the Aspicilia cinerea agg. but the chemistry is wrong and being a muggins I didn't collect a specimen to see what the spores were like.
Sometimes if I want to keep track of an observation I add it to my 'Favourites' (but usually forget until its too late and I can't ever find it again!)
If only that first point were even halfway true! I have barely scratched the surface.
