Wood Pigeon, asleep, Grafham Water, 2012 05 17 001 reduced
Description:

I was looking through my photos the other day, and I found that I only had two reasonable pictures of woodpigeons. I realised that I'd been ignoring them for an awfully long time, dismissing them as, "Just another woodpigeon".
This one was the most interesting thing I saw at Grafham Water on this day - it was ever so quiet...

Your right they are classed as a pigeon not worth much.I did not realise how lovely there colours are until I started to watch them on a very sunny day sitting on the bird table (the bird not me),but don't you think that goes for a few birds stock Dove,Magpie,Sparrow,Starling classed as drab but when we take the time to look they are fabulous.

I agree, Sheila.

Don't forget Mallards, too! And a lot of the female ducks are just gorgeous, in a restrained sort of way.

I like the idea of you watching birds whilst sitting on the bird table!
