BioBlitz Knowsley

As part of the up-coming Knowsley Green Fayre on Sunday the 17th of June NW iSpot Mentor Rachael and Merseyside BioBank are teaming up to run Knowsleys first ever BioBlitz event at Court Hey Park.

The Knowsley Green Fayre opens the park and National Wildflower Centre to visitors with the addition of craft and food stalls.

The BioBlitz will be running along side this event with a bat walk in the evening, we already have generous offers from museum staff and local volunteers to help out, but would like to open it up to the iSpot community! You don't have to be an identification expert, but if you are nearby any help will be greatly appreciated!

Bioblitz 2012

Involved as a Volunteer in the first-ever OPAL-BIOBANK Bioblitz event held at Court Hey Park, Knowsley. Enjoyed the various bio-activities despite adverse morning weather conditions. The highlight for me was Tony Carter's Fungal Forage - 28 species recorded for MBB and some photo observations for the iSpot community. Add to that a free Bioblitz t-shirt and a dedicated resourced staff and you have a recipe for interest. Thanks and regards

Hello Rachael,

Thank you for your kind words - it was a pleasure to participate in the event. I think that, potentially, we can mutually benefit from the OPAL - MBB link. Thanks and regards
