I didn't see any Red Squirrels whilst walking on the island but there were about 4 near the visitors' centre taking nuts out of the feeder.

Dragonflies galore! I was so lucky with the weather too. Lots of birds on the lagoon and of course the history of the Island. Not enough time to stand and stare really as I landed 2pm and the last boat was 5pm.

By the way the council mowers have flattened the site of the Morels but they had shrivelled up to nothing anyway. I'll let you know if they appear next year, so we can catch them fresh. Regards Chris

I think timing is important when visiting Brownsea aswell. I'd missed the avocets. I think it is good at migration time. Good leaflet here
