Description:

This is probably the commonest species of Sphaerophoria on the Common (even more than scripta). The small size, dark abdomen with paired yellow spots and weak yellow stripe along thorax (often incomplete) are pointers, but genitalia determination is required to be sure. This one was taken and keyed out using Stubbs and Falk and van Veen.
I am not expecting an agreement, as the genitalia are not visible!!
