Syrphus

This is a Syrphus, as the right hand spot on tergite 2 can be seen to pinch in at the margin, giving it the characteristic golf club head shape. Also, the yellow bands are very narrow on the tergites...usually much broader in Epistrophe. You do have to look closely with Syrphus, to avoid overlooking something more unusual, but this one is a Syrphus!
