The photographed cowslip, incidentally, is probably of sown origin. The local council has seen fit to supplement the native populations along roadsides with plants that are genetically not the same.
....I thought it might be helpful to others to confirm that I think that the flower is a Cowslip.
I also thought it might be helpful to others if I supply information such as when it flowers, its habitat, and similar species.

Not one of the greatest annoyances in life, but redundant repeats of identifications do get people's backs up and there has been much debate in the forums.
