Position on tree

This bat was roosting on a tree trunk about three feet off the ground. I've never seen a bat at this level before.

It's been injured as you can

It's been injured as you can see on the back of it's neck and shoulders, hence the unusual behaviour. Probably won't survive long, sadly

No Serotine

Way too gingery for a serotine, and your location rules that out (Serotine current distribution is N. Wales across to Kings Lynn). Hard to tell from pic about size, but *could* be a noctule
