Flowering Empetrum nigrum and Vaccinium myrtillus in south east Scotland

I am helping on a research project looking at nectar and pollen production in an assortment of important/common British plant species and two species on our list that we still need to find and measure are

Empetrum nigrum, and
Vaccinium myrtillus,

ideally we would like to sample them somewhere near Edinburgh.

If you have seen them flowering around Edinburgh, the Lothians or the Borders, or know roughly when and where they are likely to flower, please let us know. That would be a great help.

Thanks.

You can use the map feature

You can use the map feature on ispot to look for these species, I found for example http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/174579
However I suspect there are plenty of closer locations for these species that are not yet on ispot, the local county plant recorder should know where they are.
