Fly, approx 10mm in length, looked quite orange when in flight. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks.

Rhingia

Stands out because its the probably the only Hover with such a pronounce projection at the front of its head. Breeds in cow-pats.

Badgers

Your name, GrizzledBadger, would be good for the other member of the genus, Rhingia rostrata. Similar 'snout' but paler abdomen and has a connection with badger latrines, perhaps?
