Description:

These flies were found in the leaf litter round the roots of a Hornbeam and a Yew tree.

Surely the recorded date is wrong? This species normally occurs in April/May

Hi, I apologise for this, I changed the date but it reverted back unfortunately and I didnt spot it before I submitted it. It was seen on 24th April 2012. Thanks for the clarification.

If th date is definitely wrong, then I agree with marci (at least for the males, which are distinctive).
