This small hoverfly was clinging on to the lichen on a tree trunk trying to soak up some late afternoon sun.
No interactions present.
I am not convinced about this one. The shapes of the markings on T3&4 do not look right and there is something wrong with T2 - which may be the camera angle. My instincts say Meliscaeva but I may well be wrong (happy to be corrected). One of those cases where a specimen would solve the problem - unless you have other shots.

I have just started to try to take specimens, but missed this one by a mile unfortunately.
