Spider, with note regarding its legs

These images tempted me to dig out the book: How Do You Tell If a Spider is Dead?.. (ed. By Don Glass) – the answer being: if the spider remains still with its legs curled inwards. This is a result of the fact that spiders’ legs, in life, are extended via a hydraulic system; muscles are only involved in flexing the legs.
