I think this might be a pupa of some sort, can anyone help with identification? I didn't think to make a note of what tree species it was on unfortunately....! Many thanks!

Harlequin Ladybird

Thank you very much for ID. Have seen lots of lady birds in same woods and having just looked up about Harmonia axyridis on line, now wondering if many of them are Harlequins, will start to investigate!

Good to hear! There are certainly plenty of Harlequins near you - I've seen plenty in Sheffield - so once you start looking, I'm sure you'll find plenty more in addition to this one, which is a hatched pupa
