Having had many here during the autumn and three pairs staying over the winter on the cliffs, they all moved on during mid March, probably to breeding areas further west.
I have to say they are lovely birds and are here in very large numbers. I have seen them from Dartmoor to the coast.

I like these birds a lot and not only because they are posers. I spent many hours last autumn watching them co-operate with the Dartford Warblers insect hunting and I have several photographs of these activities.
I am not sure where they are nesting although I did hear that there are quite a few west of Poole, Dorset
