There are several species of

There are several species of Helleborus present in Friuli http://luirig.altervista.org/flora/helleborus.htm and I do not think that these photographs present sufficient evidence to decide which. Maybe you have further information?

thank you for your comment!
Indeed, looking at the link you sent there are many varieties but when I looked at this plant, I tried to restrict the research based also on the area I was in (Valli del Natisone). This is a very peculiar ecosystem of the region, where the two main species of helleborus or odorus and niger. Comparing the images and what I could see (the greenish/yellow colour) I guess this is the odorus var.
Though I am not an expert... and this link you sent me really is quite significant!!!
Thank you !

The plants probably flower in

The plants probably flower in February at the altitude you give of 450m. So what you see is minus the petals. So you can't tell the color of the flowers from these pictures.
This is H. niger http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/247026
This is H. viridis http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/247027
I am not familiar with H. odorus.
Tanti saluti, Martino

Yes... indeed it's not easy

Yes... indeed it's not easy to say now. The problem is, when I take the picture, most of the time I don't know what exactly to look for in order to be able to better identify the variety once in front of my computer :)
Well, I'll go back in due time to solve the puzzle then !!
Grazie Martino!

cheers

I do agree! With experience

I do agree! With experience one begins to learn what is needed to make the identification.
Here is an example with a Viola http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/257410
