Sexing adders

Sexing adders can be a bit tricky, colour is a help but shouldn't be relied on. Judging by the shape and length of the tail I would say this is probably a male. A female would have a shorter tail which tapers more rapidly towards the tip.

Thanks for your input. I did think it looked quite slender, but it was not as active as most of the other males we are seeing on this patch just now. Just a lazy individual!
