Length 15mm. Attracted to lights near deciduous woodland.
No interactions present.
In my opinion it isn't Muslin Moth; the ground colour looks wrong and the hints of markings don't look quite right.
It's also unlikely (though not impossible) that Muslin would be in such a state this early in its FS.
I'd put my money on Small Quaker if I had to.
To me the colour of the hairs there are rather too yellowish for Muslin moth. That said I am not sure how true the colours are, the whole image seems to have a yellow cast to it.
Perhaps the picture has been taken with flash? I agree there is a lot of gold/yellow coming through. Have been searching, without success, for an Orthosia wing vein picture. Almost certainly an example of where dissection would solve a lot of head scratching.
