Greylag, in flight, Fowlmere, 2012-04-12 004
Greylag, landing, much forward splashing, Fowlmere, 2012-04-12 001 reduced
Description:

Yesterday was a real Greylag day at Fowlmere. There was a lot of aggression, with birds flying in and out on a regular basis.
In the first picture the feathers are flared for landing, and the undercarriage lowered. The second one shows how much forward splashing is caused by the feet, which they hold forwards to slow themselves down.
