Hope this one is Polyporus leptocephalus as has been suggested, was a bit confused by lack of black foot. Am still confused by these Polypores. Perhaps all the different images will show the range of different shapes and sizes which might help to get a better idea of what they can look like.
It looks to have a black foot to me. Were you expecting more Mike?
Yes I wanted to see a full wellington boot! To be serious I thought the black material was part of the twig not the fungus but I could be wrong looking at it again. Very annoyingly I did not take photos from different angles on this one.
