Conservatory

Your conservatory must be a busy place !!

It is a great insect trap as

It is a great insect trap as there are no windows in the roof. Anything that flies in and hopes to escape by heading for the sky gets caught. Last summer I swept up the fallen each morning, but now they will be destined for microscopic examination! I looked at your website yesterday by the way. It is an inspiration I must say, though I'm having to fight back envy at your camera setup! I now have a Raynox clip-on macro lens and a Speedlight flash on order to try and get a bit more detail in some of my shots.

Thanks

Thanks Martin for your comments on the website. With regard to camera set up I think everyone gets a set up that suits them after experimenting. I don't think there is one that suits all, it's a case of switching to suit conditions and the subject. Depth of field is the big issue and my one rule is that if the sun isn't shining my camera stays in its bag. Flash macro photography is something I haven't tried, so good luck with that. Regards Chris.
