Upright plant with hairy stem and broad heavily veined leaves.Pale blue flowers with a white centre.

Thanks for the comments which prompted me to return to the site where the photos were taken and I have added two more to the o.b.
The leaves and flowers are similar to Green Alkanet but the plant lacks the rigidity and leaves were long stalked.
Strangely none of my books refer to
Brunnera m.at all. Is it not that common?
Not sure how common it is...it is not a wild plant and I have never seen one, as garden plants don't really interest me much.
Interesting to see the leaves, though, so thanks. I shall know an escaped one, now, if I see one!
