Modesty aside, I have surprised myself by how much I have learnt in under 2 years, depsite the cruel inconvience of a full-time job. At the same time, I am acutely aware that my knowledge is narrow in scope and shallow in understanding. I could easily spend the next 10 years studying just a single genus.
However, I now know enough to realise at a glance that this is not Parmotrema perlatum!
