Hi, you need at add the scientific name by pressing the "get recommended" tab when entering an ID, If you don't someone else may and you'll lose the full credit for your observation.

Hi, iSpot is about identifying species but it can also be about building your reputation as an identifier. If you add a species correctly with a scientific name people will agree with you thus enhancing your reputation.
If you do not enter it correctly and someone else adds an ID, they will get the credit and not you.
