Description:

One from last year. This observation is for the prey (Hover fly?). Not much of the upper side can be seen so I don't know where to start. I have posted a separate observation for the spider.

Thanks for the id.

I've done some measurements based on a scale shot taken at same zoom, distance etc. My best estimate of the fly is approx 15mm, which I believe is consistent with your id. The spider comes out at approx 8mm which makes it a largish (female) specimen.
