The Veronica debate - is this the common field species or do we need more for ID?

The leaves are right for V hederifolia plus flower but closer photo of flower would help.

Good photo of flower it is as Tim stated Veronica hederifolia.I too find speedwells rather tricky it is so important to get good photos and also measurements help too.

Very annoyed with myself for not getting hederifolia. I've spent the last couple of days weeding out thousands of them! Must stop jumping to conclusions (like mixing up the leaves of teasel and bristly ox-tongue).
Don't worry it happen's to us all
bristly ox-tingue leaves have hairs like upside-down anchors - doesn't help much when they are already stuck in your fingers though!
