Not Mutilla

So why not Mutilla ? Too early in the season, not enough red on the thorax. The only winged sex in Mutilla is the male, and the antennae are not long enough for a male Mutilla.

Wasp attacking butterfly.

I saw, what i though was, a wasp attacking a butterfly in the air. Snipping its wings off and flying away with the body... It looked something like this solitary bee? Is this normal? I have seen it happen twice in my garden.
