It looks like a lot of sap running down this pine tree for some reason. Is it under attack from something?
No identification made yet.
No interactions present.
Its mainly resin from the tree but there are holes that its coming out and these may be mechanical damage caused by insect burrowing in or out of trunk
What number of needles did the pine have, as the P.strobus (7needled tufts) are susceptable to White Pine Blister Rust, which affects leaves, twigs, branches as well as trunk bark causing bleeds of resin. But iagree , that the holes appear to be insect created as there appears to be frass (larval poo) deposits in the close-up. Brock
