This bird was identified by song only among the rocks and ruins of the old village of Boreraig. It's a very scratchy song with many high-pitched and lower notes in rapid succession, including a trill near the end of each burst, distinguishing it from any other high-pitched song bird.
Although this is a common bird, I felt a record of an isolated individual provided evidence of distribution during - hopefully - a period of population recovery.
