Description:

Lichen (af) Crustose lichen growing on quartz sandstone in old quarry. White thallus with grey highlight around the outer edge of the lichen disc. Black apothecia with dark surrounds. Apothecia distribution gives impression of concentric circles. Possibly Rhizocarpon petraeum.

Identifications

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
